Sometimes it can be difficult to acknowledge how much power you actually have, which is why Nespresso has has unveiled its 'You have the power to...' theme for its filmmaking contest – urging filmmakers to inspire change.

The Nespresso Talents 2017, held in partnership with video crowdsourcing platform Userfarm, challenges emerging filmmakers to create a film in the 9:16 vertical format, popular on mobile devices.

The competition – which launched earlier this week – encourages entrants to explore this filmic perspective and remind them to seek and create positive change.

 

 

Two winners will be selected from a shortlist of 15 by the jury made up of film specialists. They will be in with a chance to win a trip to this year’s Cannes Film Festival, where their win will be officially announced as well as which film was the public’s favourite. Following this, the winners will also receive mentoring sessions with Semaine de la Critique and Berlinale Talents' representatives

“Nespresso seeks out people who think differently, who are prepared to go further, push boundaries and demonstrate creativity in what they do,” says Nespresso’s chief CCO Alfonso Gonzalez. “For this reason, we are proud to support film events, with a focus on young talent and innovation in film.”
